This Cookie Policy explains how BarsVision uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Websites also use related technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage to remember information in your browser. We use these only where they are needed to operate the Service or where you have given consent.

2. Essential Cookies We Use

These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be switched off through our consent tool. They do not track you for advertising.

  • auth_session— indicates that you are signed in, so the app can keep you authenticated as you navigate.
  • video_token— a short-lived, server-set (HttpOnly) cookie scoped to video playback routes, used to authorize access to your generated videos.
  • cookie_consent— remembers your cookie preferences so we do not ask again on every visit.
  • NEXT_LOCALE— remembers your language choice (English or 中文).

3. Browser Storage

In addition to cookies, we use your browser’s localStorage and sessionStorage to support core features. For example:

  • barsvision_guest_id(localStorage) — a random, anonymous identifier that lets you use the Service before signing in.
  • pendingOrderId(sessionStorage) — temporarily remembers a checkout you started so we can confirm it when you return from payment. It is cleared once the order is confirmed.
  • Additional local entries store interface preferences and short-lived caches (such as your most recent generation options) to make the app faster. These stay in your browser and are not used for advertising.

4. Analytics and Marketing Cookies

Our cookie banner lets you opt in to or out of Analytics and Marketing cookies, separately from the essential cookies above. We do not set analytics or marketing cookies unless you opt in. If we introduce such cookies in the future, they will only be placed after you have given consent through the banner.

5. Payments

Payments are handled by our Merchant of Record, Creem. When you check out, you are redirected to Creem’s hosted checkout, which may set its own cookies under Creem’s control and governed by Creem’s own policies. We never receive or store your card details.

6. Managing Your Preferences

You can change your choices at any time using the Cookie Preferences option in our cookie banner. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service (such as signing in) from working.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
